In Taiwan

Well, we're here in Taiwan, and it is hot! Preston, though, has been handling it amazingly well. He's a trooper, he is basically supporting the entire local population of mosquitoes, but he doesn't complain at all. His hair is always soaked with sweat, but he doesn't seem to mind.

He loves the food, especially the fruit, as do his parents. He ate half his body weight in pineapple today. He then promptly fell asleep, with the fruit still in his mouth.

He absolutely insists on going outside whenever possible, and does his best to give his parents heart attacks by trying to run onto the busy street and trying to eat every cigarette butt and piece of beetle nut (a taiwanese drug, think chewing tobacco, only red and much more disgusting) spittle that he sees on the streets. Thank goodness for his monkey (a little leash thingy). He's figured out that it means we are going for a walk, so he tries to put it on whenever we are inside, and then tries to take it off once we are a safe distance from home. He fell and scraped his knee, but didn't cry or really even seemed phased by it, but when I tried to take him home to wash it off, THAT made him throw a fit.

Fortunately, he has plenty of people willing to take him out, Ya-ping's family all love him, and who wouldn't?
