Last Sunday Preston saw me in a tie and decided he wanted to look like daddy, so we found my extra tie, and Preston found my shoes.

Christmas is so much fun with a little kid.

Preston the chef. He loves cooking with us, both real and fake food. Story:
Preston has a shark that runs around the floor until you catch him with a fishing hook that his uncle mark got him. Well, he caught it, and then immediately took it to his play kitchen, popped it in the microwave, and soon afterwards had prepared a whole meal with the main courses of turkey and shark.

His other current obsession is building things. This is one of his larger projects.

Getting ready for Christmas

Christmas is almost here! We are pretty boring, but I much prefer it this way. Preston has being battling with us over opening his presents, I'm a little worried that he'll interpret the word Christmas to mean "No, you can't open that pretty box yet." He determines whose gift is whose by how much he likes the wrapping paper. Nan's present wrapped in Charlie Brown wrapping paper is his and his alone. He makes us sing "We wish you a merry Christmas" a lot.

Preston's been very good at sharing lately, but he expects the same in return, as he will remind us if we're every eating anything that he wants. Also, if we don't get him what he wants right away, his new tactic is "Here, I'll show you" and he takes us by the hand to the location of what he wants, and pantomimes the action we should do. It's too cute and so much better than throwing a fit that it's very difficult to refuse. He's also been doing really cute things like saying "you're so nice" "I love you" and kissing us. It makes the more ...uh... rambunctious times easier to bear.

We also just celebrated Ya-ping's birthday. She's THIRTY!!! Her memory is already going. Sadly, she spent part of her birthday at the doc's getting Preston checked out (he's had a chronic cough), and the rest of it getting mocked by her sweet husband. She gets the last laugh though, she's 30 and looks 20, I'm 26 and look 36 (to Taiwanese people at least).

A very pregnant Ya-ping, sewing as usual.

Just being a ham, as usual.

I would like, could like him in a box

Poor Preston has had his share of winter illness.

...and the best part afterwards.

Preston and Uncle Mark

Life is crazy. Since my last update, we've had lots of visitors, including Uncle Mark. He was fun, but we're happy to have our little home back.

Preston gave Uncle Mark a workout.

Preston sleeping with his "baby dinosaur" that his grandma gave him for his birthday.
